From the 14th – 15th July, we hosted our 4th Annual EMEA Customer Conferencein Manchester, UK, a city renowned for its rich industrial heritage, innovation and the iconic Worker Bee.

A symbol of Manchester’s hardworking spirit and proud history, the Worker Bee felt like a fitting emblem for a conference centred around collaboration, shared expertise and working together to drive progress and our attendees rated the event an outstanding 4.7 out of 5 stars!

The conference welcomed clients from 13 companies across the UK and Europe, collectively managing over 38,000 vehicles, providing an invaluable opportunity for knowledge-sharing and networking.

The Conference 100% improved my understanding of FleetWave, it gave me great insight into the inner workings.

Ice Breakers

The conference began with plenty of energy as attendees took part in a selection of interactive activities, providing a fun way to break the ice and get everyone involved before the main programme got underway.

The first challenge was a competitive take on Rock, Paper, Scissors, where those knocked out of the tournament became enthusiastic supporters of the players who defeated them, cheering them on as they battled through the rounds.

Next came a fleet-focused Kahoot quiz, testing attendees’ knowledge and keeping the competition close until the very end. Congratulations to our winners:

The lively start brought plenty of laughs and friendly competition, helping attendees connect with one another and setting the scene for an engaging day of presentations, discussions and shared insights.

Educational Workshops

Our conference agenda featured a mix of educational workshops and product demonstrations led by our expert team. Key highlights included:

Industry Insights

This year, we were delighted to welcome Ian Nash, Project Manager at Biffa Waste Management, who shared the organisation’s FleetWave journey in an insightful customer presentation.

Ian reflected on Biffa’s long-standing partnership with FleetWave, from the initial implementation in 2008 through to their more recent transition to our SaaS platform. He discussed the key drivers behind the move, the challenges and opportunities encountered along the way, and how adopting the SaaS model has helped Biffa streamline operations, improve efficiency, and achieve their return on investment (ROI) objectives.

Having used FleetWave for more than 18 years, Biffa now manages a complex fleet of over 5,000 vehicles and more than 1,000 assets through the platform. Their continued success demonstrates how FleetWave can scale alongside growing organisations, providing the flexibility, visibility, and operational control needed to support one of the UK’s leading waste management companies.

Thank you for inviting Biffa to the conference, there were many take aways for us to use, to help deliver more value from FleetWave.

Ask the Expert

Following the success of previous years, our “Ask the Expert” sessions were back, giving customers dedicated one-to-one time with our FleetWave specialists. Each 30-minute session was tailored to the individual, providing a focused opportunity to discuss specific requirements, challenges and opportunities.

From enhancing reporting and refining workflows to exploring customisation options, attendees received practical, hands-on guidance that could be applied immediately. With the ability to make updates to their systems during the sessions, customers left with actionable advice and real improvements to help them get even more value from FleetWave.

Evening Entertainment

On the evening of Day 1, attendees enjoyed an unforgettable evening at the Electric Shuffle Manchester, for a fun-filled evening of high-tech shuffleboard. Split into teams, attendees battled it out across four competitive games, putting their skills to the test as they aimed to land pucks in the highest-scoring zones.

The evening offered a chance to step away from the conference agenda, enjoy some friendly competition and connect with fellow attendees in a more relaxed environment. With plenty of laughs and a little healthy rivalry along the way, it was a great opportunity to build relationships, share stories and continue the conversations sparked throughout the first day, all while experiencing one of Manchester’s most unique social venues.

The overall benefit of the conference was that it provides the opportunity to see the lat-est developments being worked on and provide feedback, as well as to be able to discuss with other chevin customers how they are using the system.

Sustainability

This year, a tree was planted for every attendee via our partners, MoreTrees, as part of our ‘Trees for Fleets’ initiative.

This year, we planted 45 trees, which will capture an estimated 67.5 tons of CO2, the equivalent to 250,000 miles in a diesel car over the trees’ lifetime.

To date, we have planted 2,209 trees, collectively capturing over 3,400 tons of CO2 in their lifetime.
