We spoke with Jan Willem Gosseling, Director at Fleetcraft, to discuss how the implementation of FleetWave has transformed their fleet operations
Challenges
Before adopting FleetWave, Fleetcraft faced significant challenges in managing their growing fleet using Excel. As Jan Willem Gosseling explained, “Before we tried to manage fleets with Excel, which is quite difficult. So you missed the overview of data.” The reliance on spreadsheets led to inefficiencies and limited visibility across their operations, making it difficult to track essential data such as vehicle maintenance schedules and fuel usage. This often resulted in missed opportunities for fleet optimization and cost-saving initiatives, ultimately hampering their ability to scale and operate efficiently.
Our Solution
To address Fleetcraft’s fleet management challenges, FleetWave was implemented as a comprehensive solution. Over the past decade, Fleetcraft has relied on FleetWave to manage not only their growing fleet of commercial vehicles but also the specialized components that are integral to their operations. As Jan Willem Gosseling explained, “We have been using FleetWave for about 10 years, maybe more. And we use it to manage commercial vehicles and not only the vehicles they sell, but also the components like the tail lifts, the bodies, the fridges, which makes it very useful.”
The ability to track both vehicles and their individual components, such as tail lifts, refrigeration units, and custom bodies, has given Fleetcraft full visibility into their fleet’s operations. This level of detail allows for better maintenance tracking, improved equipment lifecycle management, and more precise forecasting of operational needs, making FleetWave a critical tool in streamlining their processes and maintaining efficiency.
Impact
The implementation of FleetWave has had a significant and positive impact on Fleetcraft’s fleet management operations. One of the most notable improvements has been the ability to centralize all critical fleet data in a single platform. As Jan Willem Gosseling explained, “As I said, now we’ve got an overview of the vehicles, and also of vehicle cost next to fuel consumption and things like that. So we get everything in one place, which is very convenient.” By having all relevant information—such as vehicle performance, maintenance schedules, fuel consumption, and costs—consolidated into one system, Fleetcraft now enjoys improved data visibility and enhanced decision-making capabilities.
The primary benefit Fleetcraft has experienced is the significant amount of time saved by streamlining their processes. As Jan Willem shared, “To save time, so we don’t need to spend a lot of time looking for data and trying to figure out what we promised to the customer.” With all essential information readily available, Fleetcraft no longer spends valuable hours manually searching for data or verifying commitments made to customers. This increased efficiency allows them to focus on delivering better service and maintaining a higher standard of fleet management, all while reducing the administrative burden on their team.
Conclusion
For Fleetcraft, the strong partnership they’ve built with us is not just about the software’s functionality, but also about the responsive support that ensures any issues are quickly addressed. When asked if he would recommend FleetWave, Jan Willem Gosseling was clear in his endorsement: “Yes I would recommend. Because they are easy to approach, and when you have a problem it gets solved, which is most important.”
This reliable service, combined with FleetWave’s ability to simplify complex fleet management tasks, makes FleetWave an invaluable asset for businesses like Fleetcraft. The company’s success demonstrates how adopting the right technology can lead to long-term operational improvements and a more streamlined, efficient approach to fleet management.
