Meet our Mental Health Officers
Mental Health in the Workplace
Working conditions and environment can have a huge impact on mental health and, equally, someone’s mental health can have a significant impact on their ability to perform well in their job.
With as many as 1 in 6 Australians experiencing a mental illness, the aggregate cost is enormous, not only to individuals and those closest to them but also to businesses.
Poor mental health in the workplace can contribute towards a high staff turnover, loss of productivity and lack of motivation. Check out our blog recognizing mental health in the workplace to learn how to spot the signs and take the steps to create a healthier workforce.
We promote mental health in the workplace and highlight the importance of mental health wellbeing. We encourage honest, open discussion about practices, or issues that are causing stress in the workplace and value healthy behaviours, such as sensible work hours, respectful communication and staying physically active during the day. We have created a culture that allows our employees to create a work-life balance that works for them, with the support of our mental health officers.
