We interviewed Fiona Gronowicz, Terminal Operations Manager at Ford Motor Company about her experience at the Chevin Customer Conference 2022 and using FleetWave to manage a fleet of over 15,000 vehicles and assets!

Ford Motor Company is an American multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, United States. Ford is the second-largest US-based automaker and the fifth-largest in the world based on 2015 vehicle production. The company sells automobiles and commercial vehicles under the Ford brand.

What do you like most about FleetWave?

What I love about FleetWave is its flexibility. With autonomous vehicles it is different to managing a traditional fleet and the things that we have to do such as working on automation of dispatching where the vehicle is going to be serviced and who’s going to be repairing the vehicle. We like that FleetWave allows us the capability of being flexible for what we need with an autonomous fleet, and we’re still learning how it is different from a traditional fleet.

How have you found it working with the Chevin team?

Their willingness to work on our requirements list, which was a long drawn our process was key, as well as their approach of ‘yeah we can do this’ and ‘yeah that’s kind of cool what you’re trying to do here, we will work with you on that’.

It’s been a great experience and coming to the event and getting to know further the Chevin people has been wonderful, as well as learning from other fleets the challenges they have. Obviously some of their challenges may be different to what you have with an autonomous fleet but the foundation is a lot of the same.

We have been able to work with Chevin to provide input to them and feedback on how the product can improve and how we can grow FleetWave as we grow and develop on our autonomous vehicles, it is really invaluable to be here and get that experience.

What did you enjoy most about the User Conference?

Well I think it’s really good because I think you learn so much more on the capability of what FleetWave can do and how others are using FleetWave, again the flexibility. You learn about things you didn’t think about and think maybe we need that within how we configure FleetWave for our use and application.

It’s nice to see the roadmap of what is coming in the future and how that can impact how we want to develop and improve our fleet management.
