Mental Health in the Workplace

Working conditions and environment can have a huge impact on mental health and, equally, someone’s mental health can have a significant impact on their ability to perform well in their job.

Research has found that in the UK 1 in 6.8 people experience mental health problems in the workplace and evidence suggests that 12.7% of all sickness absence days can be attributed to mental health conditions.

Poor mental health in the workplace can contribute towards a high staff turnover, loss of productivity and lack of motivation. Check out our blog recognising mental health in the workplace to learn how to spot the signs and take the steps to create a healthier workforce.

We promote mental health in the workplace and highlight the importance of mental health wellbeing. We encourage honest, open discussion about practices, or issues that are causing stress in the workplace and value healthy behaviours, such as sensible work hours, respectful communication and staying physically active during the day. We have created a culture that allows our employees to create a work-life balance that works for them, with the support of our mental health officers.
