FleetWave extends multi-currency display options
Browse tables ( FleetWave’s data record tables) already have some pretty neat tools to control the presentation of the column data you see, and we have added a few new ones specifically for handling multiple currencies.
To summarise what this means, you can now render currencies in a number of different ways in the data tables. This is useful when transactions, such as fuel, are recorded in more than one currency, and different users may wish to see these figures in different formats.
For example, based on your chosen column configuration you can now see transactions in:
Its original inputted currency – everyone sees what was original recorded
Converted into a single currency for all transactions based on user settings – each person will see a currency that’s set in their personal settings
Or converted into a single global reporting currency for all users – regardless of original input value or user settings everyone will see the same currency.
So how do I do this I hear you cry? To remind you of what you have now; located on every Browse Table there is dropdown field called “Quicklinks”. This shows you pagination controls, reports and some useful tools to control the table such as “Select Columns”.
“Select Columns” takes you to a screen where you can define which columns are displayed, and using the “Type” dropdown, how the data is presented to the user in the table.
The main “Type” options you can select to control the data presentation in the Columns are:
Column – This shows the raw code data out of the table. For example, if it was the Fuel Type Column if the field was the value Diesel it would show the code “DL”.
Description – This will the show description rather than the code. For example, the Fuel Type Column, the code in the previous example was DL, but the description shown is “Diesel”.
Column with pop-up link – This is the same as the Column view, expect the field values become clickable links that create pop-up’s showing any related records.
Description with the pop-up link – This is the same as above but rather than a code, it uses the description.
Hopefully that all makes sense. Now what’s new is there are now 2 brand new “Type” options for column’s holding currency data, which extend its Multi-Currency Support.
Currency: Its original inputted currency
Currency (System): the currency defined in each individual’s user settings
Currency (User Specific): the currency set for global reporting
If that still seems a bit confusing you can check out some great new training videos on using “Select Column” features.
Economy labels (also known as C02 labels or ECO labels), are used to categorise how much C02 a vehicle pollutes. You can now customise the Eco labels, with region specific values, colours and letter bandings.
If your company has a policy that all vehicles you purchase are below set CO2 Figure, so default bandings above that figure will never get used, you can recalibrate the bandings to better define your vehicles C02 emissions a more detailed way.
