Fleet Size: 600 Previous System: Manual Product: FleetWave 2.0 Date Installed: October 2008
It became clear that our existing system wasn't able to cope with the increasing levels of information we needed to record, relating to new rafts of health and safety legislation, training, plant, equipment and building certification. We realised that although the system had done its job, it had become out of sync with our needs.
Our workforce is now able to input data to PDAs and laptops off-site, resulting in faster access and highly accurate data. Unlike other solutions that we considered, FleetWave was completely user definable, so we could build the systems to meet our exact needs, add fields, alter layouts and add interfaces as necessary
It is this flexibility that allows us to record not only the data we need but present it in a way most suited to our needs, and make changes if necessary. We can also adapt the reports we generate, which have shown to be one of the administrative team's greatest resources.
The County itself comprises an area of approximately 2,735 square kilometres and the total population of the County was 121,281(Census 2002) which showed an increase of 7.3% since 1996. Limerick County Council is the Local Government administrative body responsible for Limerick County and comprises an elected and executive structure.
LCC was looking for an off-the-shelf, yet user-definable, solution to help manage its fleet of over 100 mixed vans, road construction equipment, plant machinery and water services vehicles.
We have chosen FleetWave because it is internet based and versatile enough to manage our mixed fleet requirements. After a thorough review of the marketplace, no other standard off-the-shelf fleet solution would fit our exact specification. The flexibility and comprehensive reporting ability was a major factor in Limerick County council selecting FleetWave over the others. FleetWave will also be able to integrate with our future plans for the transport operation.
