Client Quote

FleetWave from Chevin Fleet Solutions has proved to be an excellent choice for us. The flexibility it affords NIAS helps provide a platform, which allows us to work in a modern, effective and efficient manner, consistent with other best performing ambulance services across the globe.

NIAS Fleet Manager

Introduction

Northern Ireland has an area of 5,500 square miles and is accessed by 15,500 miles of roads. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) provides statutory ambulance services to approximately 1.7 million people in this area and has a fleet in excess of 300 vehicles based at 32 sites.

Client Brief

NIAS required a truly web-based fleet management system to improve efficiency in the way it managed its fleet. The system had to be capable of handling a minimum of 300 'live' vehicles and associated equipment, 10 concurrent users based at a minimum of 7 sites and also had to be capable of expansion if required.

Client Benefits

Chevin Fleet Solutions' flexible web-based FleetWave software system was the ideal fleet management solution for NIAS needs. The system designed by Chevin for NIAS included: - Vehicle & equipment header records / Vehicle history / Miles/Kms travelled & Fuel/Oil used - Defects & outstanding work records / Job cards / Accident records / Servicing & inspection records - Renewal date reminders for MOT, servicing, Road Fund Licences, Lease / Exception reporting - Whole life costing reports / VMRS and ICME databases / Labour management / Stock control - Repair occurrence analysis / Report generator by field / Authorised driver details A key added benefit was that FleetWave also allowed NIAS to facilitate the scheduled maintenance of all specialist equipment, regardless of it being attached to a vehicle or not. For example with the FleetWave system, NIAS could allocate emergency equipment, such as a defibrillator or a stretcher, to a vehicle and then track that same piece of equipment should it change vehicles.
