Honda selects Chevin Fleet Solutions

After a competitive tender process involving 5 suppliers, Honda (UK) has this week named Chevin Fleet Solutions as the company’s fleet management software provider for the vehicle manufacturer’s company car fleet for Honda associates. Following the initial tailoring and implementation stages of Chevin’s flagship web-based fleet management software, FleetWave®, Honda (UK) will benefit from complete visibility over its entire fleet operation and reductions in cost and administration as a result of automated processes. The Honda (UK) Company Vehicle Operations department indentified a need to ensure a speedy turn-around of fleet vehicles. Craig Fulton, Fleet Planning Manager at Honda (UK), explains: “To make sure our vehicle operation remains cost effective, automating processes to gain further reductions in the number of days it takes to put a vehicle on fleet or dispose of a de-fleeted vehicle was essential.” “With a fleet of 4,500 vehicles, our existing in house fleet system relies on out dated technology and requires excessive manual input and reliance on spreadsheets for daily aspects of fleet management. This creates labour and time intensive processes which ultimately impact the bottom line. A lack of integration capability with other systems meant both a lack of overall visibility and unnecessary duplication of data.” By migrating to FleetWave®, Honda (UK) will be able to streamline many of its fleet processes to promote more cost effective operations. With the new KPI and Charting Wizard, available with the latest version of FleetWave®, Honda (UK) will also benefit from the ability to create graphically-based, in depth reports at the click of a mouse.
